thank you for all the great support and hard work that you and the members of
your organization have put forth in making Georgia a better place to
live and work. In an effort to ensure that we here at the Department of
Justice’s National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center Southeast
are providing the best possible support to public safety agencies in
Georgia I ‘am sending out
this email to update you on the services provided free of charge by the NLECTC. The
following is a list of services that we currently provide. If you know of an
agency or department that could benefit from one of our services please feel
free to pass on this email or my contact information. Additionally if you know
of a specific person at the state or local level that could assist in spreading
the word about what we can offer agencies or who I should contact directly I
would be grateful if you would pass this on to them or provide the center back
their contact information.
NLECTC
Southeast Mission

With a mission to
support law enforcement, corrections, and other emergency response agencies as
an honest broker of technology information and assistance, the National Law
Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center - Southeast (NLECTC-Southeast) is
the regional field representative of the U.S.
Department of Justice, National Institute of Justice, Office of Science and
Technology.
NLECTC-Southeast's
no-cost services span a broad range of activities designed to facilitate the
implementation of affordable, quality, technology-oriented services and systems
with the ultimate goal of greater effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
Center services
include:
- Providing technical
assistance in the area of land mobile radio.
- Assistance in
establishing or enhancing existing communications interoperability.
- Assessing the needs of
the public safety community.
- Providing information
on technology and its implementation to the public safety community.
- Coordinating
evaluations of new and emerging technologies to determine their effectiveness
for use in the public safety community.
- Supporting advisory
groups of subject matter experts to guide and evaluate technology research and
development to meet the needs of the public safety community.
- Assisting agencies in
developing enhanced information management capabilities, including records
management and wireless communications.
- Identifying and
testing technologies to address school safety concerns.
- Enhancing incident
mapping and geo-spatial analysis techniques through research and capacity
building opportunities.
- Developing technology
solutions for port and maritime security issues.
- Facilitating the
location and processing of Department of Defense and other Federal agencies'
excess equipment for issue to criminal justice agencies
